Richmond gymnasts selected for the 2025 World Games
Congratulations to Louis, Freddie, Rex and Samuel!

We are celebrating a historic achievement as our Senior Men’s Acrobatic Group have been officially selected to represent Great Britain at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China.
The World Games, taking place from 7th to 17th August 2025, are recognised globally as the most prestigious multi-sport event after the Olympics, spotlighting disciplines not featured in the Olympic programme. This year, more than 4,000 elite athletes from over 100 countries will compete across 253 medal events during the 11-day international showcase, that happens every four years.
Louis Alexander, Freddie Turner, Rex Booth and Samuel Ditchburn earned their spot on Team GB following standout performances at the Acrobatic European Championships earlier this year and their recent victory as 2025 British Champions.
The group will perform three high-level routines during the Games, including their renowned “Spiderman” routine, a fan-favourite that has captivated audiences across Europe.
This milestone also coincides with our 65th anniversary, marking decades of dedication to the sport within the local community.
“We are immensely proud of Louis, Freddie, Rex and Samuel,” said Melanie Sanders, Head of Acrobatics at Richmond Gymnastics. “Their unwavering commitment, teamwork and exceptional performances have earned them this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent Great Britain on the world stage. We couldn’t be more excited for them.”
Louis, Freddie, Rex and Samuel will compete in Chengdu on Sunday 10th August with updates and livestream links on our website and Instagram profile.
