Display Group in Disneyland Paris

They’re Back! And they’ve brought Mickey with them!

Richmond Gymnastics Display Group triumphed at “Gymnastique Magique” in Disneyland Paris. The Event organised to celebrate Festival Gymnastics on an International stage, gives its entrants the opportunity to showcase their very best displays in both a competition and Festival format.

Held from the 14th to the 17th October 2016, our gymnasts could perform as well as enjoy the sights at Disneyland and were even asked to perform at the pre-parade in the Disney park. The group of 18 gymnasts ranging in age from 8 to 17 years old had a very busy and exciting 4 days in their first international appearance.

Following a lengthy selection process RGA were invited not only to compete, but also to showcase their talents in a 15-minute piece choreographed by one of our senior gymnasts, Thomas Razey. This was performed on a Disney stage for the whole public to enjoy and was a wonderful experience for all our gymnasts.

On Saturday 15th October, our talented gymnasts performed in the group competition section of the Festival against other gymnastics clubs from across Europe eventually winning 3rd place out of 11 groups.

Kate Fitzgibbon, Head of Display Group said “Magical is the word used to describe their wonderful performance.”

Congratulations to RGA Display Group- we are all so proud of your achievement!
