COVID-19 FAQs

Our coaches are unable to work from home if they have to isolate so we kindly ask that parents/guardians wear a mask when visiting us.

We continue with the following protocols:

  • Reduced contact between groups/ classes.
  • Sanitiser will continue to be available throughout the gym to regularly clean hands before, during and after sessions.
  • We will maintain both our regular cleaning and deep-cleaning schedule.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping keep RGA families and staff safe.

Please also keep an eye on our website and social media channels which are updated regularly.

Stay safe.

Other FAQs

Are parents allowed to watch classes? Parents are not permitted to watch classes throughout the terms. We do however have a specific watching week in which parents are more than welcome to come along and see what their child has been up to.

Where should I park? Parents/Guardians of members who attend classes at the RGA Centre in Townmead Road must park in the Putney Rowing Club car park which is a short distance from the main Centre.

What does my child need to bring to their first class? Please make sure that your child is wearing the RGA kit (their own kit is fine for the first two classes of term) and brings a water bottle.

Can my child trial the first class? Unfortunately, we do not offer trial classes in our general gymnastics programme.

What kit does my child need? All members are required to wear the RGA t-shirt or leotard. Kit is available to purchase via the kit tab on our website. The access code is RGA1960. We have sample kit available at reception at the RGA Centre on Townmead Road so that your child can try on before purchasing. Children can wear their own kit (t-shirt and legging/shorts) for the first two weeks of term.

How do I know what size kit to order? We have sample kit available at reception at the RGA Centre on Townmead Road so that your child can try on before purchasing.

My child’s a beginner, are the classes mixed ability? The classes are based on academic year groups and split into ability groups within the class. The coaches will test them at the beginning of term to determine which ability group is most suitable for their level.

How can I monitor my child’s progress/ How to view and purchase badges? Gymnasts work towards badges throughout the term. The badge reflects their academic year group. To view your child’s badges, please log in to your online account. Select membership account in the top right corner, select your child’s name and scroll down to the awards/badges section. Any completed badges will be available to purchase. If your child has not completed their badge, do not worry, if you click on the view button you will be able to see what your child needs to pass to complete the badge.

What happens if I miss the payment deadline? The invoice will automatically be removed by the database and reallocated to the waiting list. If you have missed the payment deadline but would like your child to continue, please make sure that your class options are updated, and the office can check to see if there is still availability in their class.

How do I update my child’s class options? To update your child’s options, please log in to your online members account. Select membership account in the top right-hand corner, select the tab with your child’s name and scroll down to the waiting list section. Classes are based on academic year therefore please make sure that you have selected the correct options for your child’s age to be offered a space.
